Everyday Maintenance

Everyday Maintenance

Floors should be regularly swept and routinely washed with an appropriate maintenance product. LTP has two cleaners for every day use.

1) LTP Floorshine
Which may be used on glazed ceramics, unsealed floors and floors sealed with LTP Ironwax / Ironwax Satin / Glaze Protector or similar acrylic sealing products. LTP Floorshine contains small amounts of acrylic , which help develop a surface "shell" as the floor is washed.

2) LTP Waxwash
Which may be used on, unsealed floors, floors sealed with Linseed Oil / Beeswax and floors treated with LTP Colour Intensifier and Stain Block / LTP Mattstone and LTP MPG sealer.

Stain Removal

Surface Blemishes

Surface Blemishes
Floor seals are not a permanent impenetrable barrier to staining, fluid contaminants, left on the floor for more than 30 minutes, may produce minor discolouration. Such marks may be minimised by the following methods. In all cases, remove spillage as quickly as possible and wipe over floor with a damp cloth.

1) Floors sealed with Linseed Oil / Beeswax
After wiping up the spillage work over the affected area with a little beeswax and buff to a shine.

2) Floors sealed with LTP Ironwax or Ironwax Satin
Use a little diluted LTP Grimex on a cloth to remove spillage. Neutralise solution with water. When dry reseal the area with more LTP Ironwax or Ironwax Satin

3) Floors sealed with Mattstone or Colour Intensifier and Stain Block or MPG
Use a little diluted LTP Grimex on a cloth to remove spillage . Neutralise solution with water. When dry reseal with more LTP Mattstone, Colour Intensifier and Stain Block or MPG sealer.

Oil and Grease Stains

Oil and Grease Stains

Oil and Grease Stains
1) LTP Fuller Earth
On Recent spillages sponge the stain as much as possible with a clean cloth without rubbing, going from the outside to the middle of the stain. Powder the stain with LTP Fuller Earth. Leave for 30 minutes and delicately brush away. Apply again if necessary. In all cases it may be necessary to re-seal surfaces that have been treated.

2) LTP Spot Stain Remover
On older spillages and stubborn oil and grease marks pour directly onto the stain and leave for about 5 minutes. Powder the stain with LTP Fullers Earth, wet the powder again with the LTP Spot Stain remover  and cover it once more with the LTP Fullers Earth so the surface remains dry. Leave to react for about 24 hours. Brush away the powder and rinse well with a sponge and water. In all cases it may be necessary to re-seal surfaces that have been treated.
